A Better Tomorrow Starts With Us

Hatten Cares Charity Drive 2013 !

Hatten Cares is busy, busy, busy these days… we’re working hard on our annual charitable community project and we’re all super-excited because this year, we’re doing it differently… Our previous projects have been mostly small-scale ventures such as direct donations to non-profit organisations or shopping mall based awareness campaigns. However, we’ve come to realise that through these micro efforts, yes, we are able to help those in need and spread our message but, the overall outreach is limited. We want to do more; contribute more and serve a wider range of audiences.

So, this 2013, Hatten Cares decided to go BIG, very BIG! We’re doing our very first HATTEN CARES CHARITY DRIVE campaign! It’s going to be a large-scale event with people from of all walks of life participating in this charitable experience.

This year, all proceeds of the Hatten Cares Charity Drive 2013 will go towards the construction of the Kechara Forest Retreat, a humanitarian project by the Kechara House foundation, targeted to be completed in 2015.

Kechara House is a non-profit organisation that promotes inner and outer peace through their practical involvement in the community and numerous charitable projects. Kechara Forest Retreat (KFR) is their latest project. Located deep in the mountains of Chamang, Bentong, just over an hour’s drive from Kuala Lumpur, KFR will be a haven for those in search of hope to restore their lives and well-being amidst lush natural surroundings.

Kechara Forest Retreat consists:

  • A nursing home for the elderly
  • An orphanage / children’s home
  • An animal sanctuary for abandoned animals
  • Free basic medical treatment
  • An organic farm to educate people on health and wellness

The Hatten Cares Charity Drive 2013 will have two phases:

The first phase is an ongoing sponsorship solicitation programme where members of the public can sponsor an item that will go towards the construction of the beneficiary project. The second phase is a Charity Auction Dinner held on the 20th of April at Hatten Hotel Melaka where invitees will bid for donated auction items – luxury jewellery pieces, a vintage Vespa scooter and much, much more.

With generous donations from kind supporters and members of the public, the construction of KFR is slowly gaining ground…

Hatten Cares sees KFR as an ideal way to give back to the people as it is not just a one-off charity event with a minor, short-term impact on the community. When completed, this forest retreat will be able to help millions of people in need for many, many years to come.

If you are moved by our journey thus far, you are most welcome to join us in helping create a more loving and caring local community.
