March 29th, 2019: Dataran Pahlawan Melaka Megamall’s (DPMM) inaugural Earth Hour-Recycle Programme was successfully carried out with a total collection of 531kg on recyclable load. The proceeds of these collection was donated to a childrens home. Dataran Pahlawan Melaka Megamall and Hatten as a whole has been closely observing the Earth Hour movement and looking to play our part through various efforts of the green footprint. This year, we step up to take on a bigger role within the industry, the state, and more importantly, our community. This year’s recycle programme sees Dataran Pahlawan leading the Hatten charge through immense collaborations with top environmental custodians.
The ‘Green Footprint Earth Hour 2019’ was graced by State EXCO – Housing, Local Government & Environment , YB Tey Kok Kiew. Hatten pledged its full support to work together with SWCorp for this event as part of its contribution to the ‘Kempen Pengasingan Sisa Pepejal Di Punca’ (SAS) that is being actively executed by the Ministry of Housing & Local Government of Malaysia.
Hatten Group Managing Director, Dato’ Colin Tan expressed his appreciation to SWCorp for agreeing to Hatten’s partnership on this programme and to everyone under the Hatten formation – Employees of Hatten, Tenants of DPMM & Elements Mall, Hatten Square along with the chain of hotels under the Hatten Hotel Worldwide as well as Double Tree by Hilton Melaka for coming together to show their support to this initiative. “It is my hope that every other corporate body will also soon realize the importance of SAS and recycling and implement the same drive.”
